New Survey Emphasizes Every Person’s Role in Safety

October 16, 2014

On October 13, 2014, Bolivar Medical Center released the Culture of Safety and Engagement Survey, a single survey which replaces two separate survey tools employees have seen before: the Safety Attitude Questionnaire and Employee Engagement Survey.

The combined survey focuses on the role that every employee in the hospital plays in creating a safe environment. As you know, quality and safety are top priorities at Bolivar Medical Center.

Features of the new survey include questions that apply to employees in every area of hospital operations, from environmental services, business office, to frontline nursing staff. The survey is shorter and more efficient than surveys in the past, and takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

The survey will be administered electronically. Employees and Physicians can log on to take the survey at https://ps.pascalmetrics.com/#/take/survey/f.

Employee responses will be anonymous, and participation is important. BMC's goal is 80% participation or higher, and updates will be provided on the progress toward that goal. The survey can be taken at the employee's convenience: here at the hospital, during a break, or from their home computer, after hours. The survey will remain open for one month.

Physicians will receive an amended version of the survey.

For questions about this year’s survey, contact Teresa Grissette, Director of Quality at 846.2459 or Ben Bufkin, Director of Human Resources at 846.2228. Thanks for helping us learn how we can continue to make Bolivar Medical Center the place where patients choose to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice, and employees prefer to work.
